Saints to Salvage: New Paintings by Jim Vogel
Vogel honors the “saintly side” of everyday people through compelling works in oil

SANTA FE, N.M [June 20, 2011] – Blue Rain Gallery is proud to announce an arresting new show of paintings with Regional painter, Jim Vogel. Saints to Salvage will be on exhibit July 15 - 30, 2011 at the Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe, NM with an artist reception scheduled for Friday, July 15th from 5 – 7pm.

In his rich ability to paint compelling narratives, Jim Vogel honors the “saintly side” of everyday people dealing with everyday life. The use of salvaged items and antique tin are combined to create beautifully crafted window-like frames, offering the viewer a private look into the lives of the subject and a dramatic and appropriate setting for his painterly masterworks. Vogel is a veteran member of Blue Rain Gallery’s stable of fine artists. His nine painting series based on the legend of “The Steel Driving Man,” John Henry was recently acquired by the Picture Art Foundation at California State University—where the series also won him the grand honor of “Best of Show”. Do not miss an exciting opportunity to visually feast on Jim Vogel’s latest creations!
