Figures to Landscapes: New Paintings by Deladier Almeida

His newest body of work shows his unique and incredible range as a painter

SANTA FE, N.M. [August 29, 2012] –Blue Rain Gallery is pleased to announce a show of new works by California-based painter, Deladier Almeida. The show will be on view at Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe from September 14 – 29, 2012 with an artist reception on Friday, September 14th from 5 – 7pm.

Almeida approaches his art with confidence and a reverence for working with paint. The New Mexico landscape, particularly the area of Abiquiu, provides endless inspiration for his paintings, as do the interesting figures and social scenes he captures of people while on vacation—or “Grand Tours,” as the artist amusedly calls it. Whether he is capturing color and shadow in the varying layers of strata contained in a jutting mesa or cliffside, or striving to convey the suppleness of one’s flesh while simultaneously capturing a mass gathering of otherwise individually focused people, Deladier Almeida creates wondrous and engaging scenes in oil. Join us as we celebrate a very special new series of work by this talented artist!
